Shapes and Lines

This is very similar to the colour theory. As well as colours having an impact on the way the audience will see the person, different shapes and colours will also have this effect. If an interview is set up so the subject is in a nice homely environment, sat on a sofa with a round table and side lamp the audience will feel very positively about this. The reason for this is because is the round table, circles have the connotations of being calm and are graceful and their curves are seen as feminine. They are warm, comforting and give a sense of sensuality and love.

On the other hand, id an interview is set n a setting with lots of harsh lines or jagged lines, this will often give off a negative impression. Especially as jagged lines have connotations with knives. It is often the case that virtical lines imply prison bars, this is used in films to hint to the audience.
